CHS Girls Basketball Wins Two In-A-Row

The Charleston High School girls basketball team has two wins under their belt and they are looking for another tonight.

The Trojans are playing in the Robinson Thanksgiving tournament and so far they have wins against Cumberland and Altamont.

In those two games, the Trojans have scored 131 points and given up 50 points.

High School Football Playoffs Tuscola vs. Maroa-Forsyth

A trip to Champaign is on the line in class 2-A, and for both teams the chance for a state title is no mystery.

The Tuscola Warriors,  two time IHSA football champions and three-time runner-up in the last eight years will take on Maroa-Forsyth who won state championships in 2006 and 2009.

CHS Head Football Coach Brian Halsey Fired

Wednesday night the Charleston School board voted to fire Brian Halsey after 15 seasons as the Trojans head coach.

Athletic Director Jim Wood wouldn't comment on a reason for Halsey's firing.

He will remain as a social studies teacher at the school.
