Illinois in the NIT Season Tip-Off
Illinois will face West Virginia on Thanksgiving as part of the NIT season tip-off in New York City.
The Illini and Mountaineers will play at 1:30 p.m. on November 24th and Florida State and Temple will play at 11:30 a.m.
The winning teams will meet for the title at 2 p.m. on November 25th.
The losing teams will play for third place at 11:20 a.m. on the 25th.

Cardinals Place Carpenter on 15-Day Disabled List
St. Louis Cardinals All-Star second baseman Matt Carpenter has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right oblique. There's no set timetable for his return.
Rookie shortstop Aledmys Diaz, who is having a breakout season, will replace Carpenter on the All-Star team. Diaz was batting .319 with 12 homers and 44 RBIs.

Wivinis Signs with the Evansville Otters
Former Eastern Illinois pitcher Matt Wivinis plans to continue his baseball career by playing with the Evansville Otters, a member of the Independent Frontier League.
Wivinis pitched the last two seasons at Eeastern after beginning his career at Kansas State.

Moss Placed on the Disabled List
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed slugger Brandon Moss on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left ankle.
Outfielder Randal Grichuk was recalled from Triple-A Memphis but was not in the lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.
Moss leads the Cardinals with 17 homers and has 40 RBIs in 75 games with starts at first base and in the outfield.
