The University of Illinois plans to dedicate a new menorah at the Chabad Center for Jewish Life.
The dedication ceremony is planned tomorrow and will feature the unveiling of a new structure made out of concrete.
Rabbi Dovid Tiechte says the new structure stands more than nine feet tall with steel reinforcements.
The old menorah was vandalized four times in recent years.
In the most recent case 18-year-old Jacob Bassler is facing a single count of criminal damage to property between 500 and 10-thousand dollars a class four felony.
