Lake Land College has a new police chief, and now Mattoon will too.
Mattoon Police Chief Jeff Branson says he's retiring at the end of November from the Mattoon Police Department after nearly 29 years.
Branson says he'll start with Lake Land on December first.
He says he's excited for this new opportunity and can't wait to work with Lake Land's faculty, staff, and students.
A replacement for Branson hasn't been announced.
