A Coles County accident leaves one person dead after authorities say he drove into the path of another vehicle.
Coles County sheriff's deputies say Merle Kolbus, 84, was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana Tuesday.
He was pronounced dead at 4:45 that evening.
The other driver, Cindy Craig, 55, says she was driving west on County Road 1000N approaching County Road 1100E when Kolbus drove into her path.
Authorities say her car hit the passenger side of Kolbus' truck, and he was ejected from the vehicle.
