Eastern Illinois University baseball's team recieved some good news about one of their players this past week.
Senior third basemen Dougie Parks was named the Mike Schmidt player of the year for the Prospect League.
Parks led the league with 60 RBI's, 73 hits, and had an on-base percenatage of .468 after leading the Lafayette Avaitors to the Prospect League championship.
Parks was joined by teammates Logan Beaman and Justin Smith on the Aviators championship team that was coached by former E-I-U player Brent McNeil who was named the Prosepct League coach of the year.
