Residents in Moultrie county will soon vote to raise sales tax.
Moultrie County school officials say several area school boards voted to put the 1% sales tax increase on the April 4th ballot.
Officials say the tax could bring in about $500,000 for the school district.
They say the money would go towards upgrading school facilities throughout Moultrie County.
The tax increase was on the ballot two years, but failed.
