Mattoon Armed Robbery

A Mattoon man is facing charges after an armed robbery at a hotel.
Police say on Thursday morning, officers were dispatched to 300 Broadway Ave East Suite Dreams Hotel room 147 in regards to armed robbery.
They say a victim told police 33-year-old Adrian Vasquez entered his room and displayed a weapon and took his money without his authority.
Vasquez is charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery with a weapon.
The victim was treated for minor injuries.
During the course investigation by Mattoon officers, it was discovered Vasquez new the victim.
Mr. Vasquez was transported to the Coles County Safety and Detention Center pending the filling of formal charges by the Coles County States Attorney's Office.
