Mattoon Man Accused of Threatening Public Official

A Mattoon man is accused of threatening a public official.
Police say on Wednesday night, they arrested 41-year-old Matthew Estes.
They say Estes went to the home of an off-duty Coles County corrections officer and threatened to damage the official's home.
Estes is charged with threatening a public official.
He remains in jail pending his first court appearance.
