Man Pleads Guilty to Damaging EIU Property

A Downer's Grove man accused of causing damage to a building on Eastern Illinois University's campus pleads guilty.

20-year-old Robert Martin was arrested on EIU's campus last January.

Police say they were called to Buzzard Hall on Eastern's campus where they found broken windows and doors and damage to walls.

Martin was charged with criminal damage to a fire fighting apparatus, criminal damage to government property, criminal trespass and consumption of liquor by a minor.

He pleaded guilty to criminal damage to government property and was placed on 24 months probation.

Martin was also ordered to perfrom 150 hours of community service work.
