Mattoon police released the name of a teenager involved in a fatal accident that killed a 7-year-old.
Police said on Thursday April 23rd, a car driven by 17-year-old Makayla McCulloch hit and killed Joshua Schneider as he was crossing 14th Street near Lawson Park.
They said Schneider was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana where he died two days later.
McCulloch was ticketed for using a cell phone while driving and is also cited with driving under the influence.
Schneider's funeral is planned at the Family Worship Center in Mattoon Friday at eleven.
