Tougher DUI Laws

Tuesday, 28 April 2015

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced his support of tougher penalties for DUI convictions.

White's advisory committee said he's endorsing several new DUI law proposals requiring repeat offenders to have a breath ignition lock in their vehicles.

Currently the locks are required only if repeat offenders are convicted twice within a ten year period.

White's office is currently crafting the legislation for consideration by the general assembly.
