A former U.S. Attorney is being honored in a big way!

Officials are dedicating the Campustown Post Office in Champaign to James Burgess.

Burgess was a commander of one of six African-American tank companies under General George Patton.

He was nominated to be U.S. Attorney in 1977 by President Jimmy Carter.

Aside from holding of the countries top positions, Burgess was also Champaign County's first African-American State's Attorney.
