A Charleston man accused of shooting and killing a woman in her Charleston home will stand trial in May.

52-year-old Larry Steeples is charged with first degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing Gina Giberson in her home April 7th.

At the time of the crime, multiple neighbors told News Watch Giberson was shot in the face and died en route to the hospital, but authorities haven't confirmed those details.

Authorities say Steeples and Giberson once dated.

If convicted, Steeples faces life in prison.

Steeples was evaluated to see if he was fit to stand trial, the court ordered those results disclosed on or before May first.
