Medical Marijuana Bill

Monday, 25 March 2013

A medical marijuana bill is close to being passed in the Illinois house.

Representative Lou Lang sponsors a bill that, if made law, would allow patients with specific medical conditions to obtain marijuana.

Lang says the measure is just one or two votes short of passing the house.

Supporters of the bill say it can relieve pain without the side effects of some prescription drugs.

Opponents say the amount patients would be allowed could give them an opportunity to sell what they don't use.
