It's that time of year again where the crops grow taller and the accidents become more frequent. News Watch's Brittany Borthwick spent the day in Coles County talking to drivers who say tall corn has always been a problem. Humbolt resident Harold Good said he has been driving the rural roads for over a decade, and he sees countless accidents. Officials say tall corn was a factor in an accident that happened Wednesday when a van collided with a bus carrying special needs children. Residents in Coles County say drivers need to start paying more attention when crossing rural intersections that have tall corn. Coles County officer John Clough says all that were injured in Wednesdays crash are already back to school and work.
