With summer around the corner many people will be looking for a way to cool off and hopefully Lake Sara in Effingham could be an option. The beach was unable to open last year, but people affiliated with Lake Sara are hopeful for it to re-open this year. If the beach doesn't re-open this year then the water authority board will consider taking over the lease. Hankins says he's also speaking with the Shelbyville Corps of Engineers about the geese problem because they experience a similar issue. He hopes to come up with a solution.
