Mattoon police arrest a man on domestic battery charges after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman.
Authorities say they arrested 54-year-old Jesse Smith Junior Monday morning in the
13-hundred block of Lafayette Avenue in Mattoon.
The complaint alleges the Mattoon man did beat the woman.
Officials say Smith was taken to the Coles County Jail pending formal charges from the Coles County State's Attorney's Office.
