U of I Men's Basketball Signs David Mirkovic

University of Illinois head coach Brad Underwood announced Monday that Montenegro star David Mirkovic has signed with the team.

U of I Basketball Star Boswell Will Return To Program

Illinois men's basketball star Kylan Boswell made the announcement across his social media platforms on Wednesday that he will return next season.

MARS Racing Series Event in Charleston Cancelled

Due to heavy rain in the forecast throughout the weekend, MARS Racing Series Director Jonathan Clayton announced Wednesday night the Charleston Speedway race scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled.

Ty Rodgers Announces Return to Illinois

Illinois guard/forward Ty Rodgers announced on social media his return to the Fighting Illini after redshirting last season.

Ty Rodgers started all 38 games as a Sophomore in 2023-24 playing a key piece to the Illini's 29 wins and the third most in school history.

Cobras Cap off Record Season as National Tournament Runner-ups

On Saturday, the Parkland College Men's Basketball team fell to No. 3 seed Kirkwood Community College in the NJCAA National Tournament Championship.

McGlone Earns 2nd OVC Player of Year Award

Eastern Illinois women's basketball forward Macy McGlone took home her second consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year award, becoming just the 10th player in conference history to accomplish that feat.

McGlone won six OVC Player of the Week awards this season, and averaged 17.7 points and 11.6 rebounds per game this season.

EIU Volleyball Hires Ryan Millar As New Head Coach

Eastern Illinois athletic director Tom Michael announced they have hired former 3-time Olympian and 2008 gold medalist Ryan Millar as the team's new head volleyball coach on Wednesday.

Millar is considered one of the greatest middle blockers in American volleyball history.

EIU Volleyball Head Coach Resigns

Eastern Illinois University's head volleyball coach Sarah Thomas has resigned Wednesday morning.

Thomas has been EIU's head coach since she was hired in December of 2019.

Along with Thomas, assistant coach Malono Concepcion's contract was not renewed.

Concepcion served on Thomas' staff from 2020 to 2022 as well as in 2024.

Two Moultrie County Schools Announce End of Co-op Program

Sullivan High School and Okaw Valley have announced the end of their 20 year football co-op program.

Sullivan High School and Okaw Valley will not be renewing the co-op agreement moving into the 2025-2026 year.

The deal will not be renewed due to Okaw Valley's failure to meet the threshold of securing athletes.

EIU Football Adds 16 New Transfers

Eastern Illinois football has added 16 mid-year transfers to the program, head coach Chris Wilkerson announced Tuesday.

Among the recruits is Wisconsin Badgers sophomore quarterback Cole LaCrue, a former ESPN three-star recruit after throwing for over 6,000 yards and 57 touchdowns in three seasons as a varsity starter at Broomfield High School.

St. Louis to Host U.S. Figure Skating Championships before 2026 Milan Olympics

The final U.S. Figure Skating Championships before the 2026 Milan Olympics will take place in St. Louis.

U.S. Figure Skating announced Monday the 2026 nationals would be Jan. 5-11 at the Enterprise Center.
