Due to heavy rain in the forecast throughout the weekend, MARS Racing Series Director Jonathan Clayton announced Wednesday night the Charleston Speedway race scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled.
"Obviously we hate losing events early in the season, especially at two racetracks that we only have a single date at on the schedule," Clayton said.
Clayton added that, due to the jam-packed racing schedule across the next few months in the Midwest, the race will not be made up.
The Charleston Speedway's 62nd season opener is slated for Saturday, April 26th.
