Sullivan fire chief Michael Piper says on the night of October 4th, a resident of Mason Point nursing care facility died after falling from a window.
Moultrie County Coroner Lynn Reed says the resident was 92 years old, and did not jump.
Reed says the resident was trying to get out of her room and opened the window, put the screen under her bed, and stepped out.
He says all of this happened between routine staff checks, and it's hard to tell what her thought process was.
The facility has not returned multiple calls from News Watch.
