Eastern Illinois University has planned the Campus Beautification Day which is set for Tuesday April 30th.
This event happens twice a year during a weekday afternoon, once during the spring prior to the EIU commencement ceremony, and once in the fall before EIU homecoming.
Employees, students, and members of the community are all invited to volunteer.
This will be an opportunity to assist our grounds department and make EIU look its best, said the Grounds Department.
Possible work will include spreading mulch, planting flowers and bulbs, picking up trash and pulling weeds.
Volunteers will be instructed on what to do and won’t be required to have any prior experience with grounds work.
According to Eastern's Office of Engagement, any necessary tools will be provided to the volunteers.
