A long time Coles County attorney will retire after 30 years on the job!
Coles County Public Defender Lonnie Lutz plans to begin his retirement June 30.
Lutz says he's retiring altogether from practicing law, but has no plans for retirement just yet.
Once he leaves office, the 12 circuit judges in the five-county judicial circuit will appoint the new public defender.
