Governor Pat Quinn announced today that Coles County is among those selected for the Illinois EPA's Used Tire Program.
"Earth Day is all about making our planet a better place to live," Quinn said. "Today we are letting the citizens of Coles County know that in the near future we are coming to help remove their old tires."
Quinn says the removal will be free, and it will make the area cleaner and safer.
The details regarding the 19 removal actions including those in Coles County are yet to be determined.
