Boston Bombing Suspect Update

Friday, 19 April 2013

Applause is filling the air of a Massachusetts town after police arrest the man being called "Suspect #2."

Boston Police have arrested Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, after an extensive manhunt through Massachusetts on Friday.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Boston Police posted on Twitter, "Suspect in custody. Officers sweeping the area. Stand by for further info."

Thirteen minutes after their initial update, they Tweeted, "CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody."

The other suspect, Dzhokhar's brother, Tamerlan, 26, was killed after a gun fight with police in the early hours of Friday morning, just hours after the FBI released surveillance photos of the two suspects.

The Tsarnaev brothers were wanted after authorities identified them as suspects in Monday's bombing at the Boston Marathon.
