Heavy rain caused flooding across much of Douglas County. Villa Grove's Embarras River has flooded most of the town's center, causing it to be shut down, and residents to be evacuated. The local chapter of the American Red Cross and other emergency personnel from surrounding counties have come to the aid of those residents still affected. Red Cross officials have set up aid stations in Villa Grove churches. They say if you are looking for other shelters outside the Villa Grove area, you can visit the Red Cross website at www.redcross.org for help locating those facilities.
