The Red Cross announced they are in desperate need for blood and platelets.
Officials said winter weather and the flu has caused more than 300 blood drive cancellations and 10,000 uncollected donations.
They said all blood types are needed, but especially type O, since it is a universal donor.
If you are interested in donating, the Charleston Public Library is hosting a drive Saturday morning at 11:30.
