Effingham Mobile Food Stands

Mobile food stands in Effingham could face new regulations to serve food.

Effingham's Assistant Fire Chief Matt Kulesza proposed a measure to the City Council which would require these stands to undergo inspections.

Kulesza said stands that are fueled by gas or electricity need to be inspected.

Kulesza said new permit regulations would cost vendors $40 for a 48 hour period, or $100 for a whole year.

Kulesza said if passed, the ordinance would go into effect immediately.

The city council is set to vote on the measure March 6th.
