In county election news, the Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a candidates forum on Tuesday February 27th at the Unique Suites Hotel.
Officials said the public forum will allow candidates to introduce themselves and answer questions from the audience.
Candidates running for Coles County Clerk, Julie Coe and Jackie Freezland, as well as Jimmy Rankin and Steve Spear running for Coles County Sheriff will be participating in the discussion.
The forum is at 5:30 pm and is free and open to the public.
