Macon County sheriff's deputies will soon be able to take their work vehicles home. Macon County Sheriff Howard Buffett says the idea stemmed from conversations with deputies about ways to improve efficiency and morale in the department. Buffett hopes to start the program in May. The sheriff says the idea of allowing deputies to take home their vehicles home will also allow officers to respond to incidents quicker.
