Hunter Harvest

Thursday, 7 December 2017

It looks like Illinois hunters had more luck in the tree stand this firearm season, with more than 80,000 deer harvested this year.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources said the preliminary total for the seven-day season that ended Sunday, was more than 80,000 deer.

They say an increase of 462 deer were harvested compared to last year's total.

Hunters still have more opportunities this season, as muzzle-loader season runs through Friday to Sunday, while archery season lasts until January 14th.
