Champaign Theft

Tuesday, 31 October 2017

A religious symbol on the University of Illinois' campus is the target of vandals, again.

U of I police say for the fifth time in two years, someone has damaged the Menorah at the Chabad Center for Jewish Life.

Police say the incident happened last Friday and was captured on video.

They say the suspect walked up to the symbol, tried to remove it from the ground, and ultimately removed a branch from the structure.

Authorities say the damaged branch was returned to the lawn on Sunday.

If you have information on the crime contact police.
