Golf carts on certain city streets in Taylorville will now be legal.
Starting September 30th motorist will be able to drive the golf carts down certain streets such as Oak Street, West Main Cross, and Vine, said City Clerk Julie Lilly.
The golf carts must be battery operated, Lilly said.
The permits are $100.00 and good for one year.
Under the new ordinance, golf carts must be inspected and drivers must pass a driving test.
