The Illinois Department of Commerce and economic Opportunity is helping residents pay heating bills this winter.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is accepting applications starting October 1st for seniors and people with disabilities.
The applications will be a first come first serve basis and will require certain documents to apply.
Customers are able to apply at the Embarras River Basin Agency in Greenup, IL.
Those who are not eligible for priority enrollment can apply beginning December 1st and money will be distributed until May 31st or until funds are exhausted.
