The Mattoon High School softball team is preparing for just its second game of the season Saturday without its head coach.
The Mattoon schools assistant superintendent says Amy Hines has resigned as head coach of the Green Wave after just one season at the helm.
Hines was promoted to the position at the beginning of last season and led the team to winning the conference and regional title.
Mattoon had no further comment on the situation, but the school's website now lists Hannah Dow as the new head coach.
