The University of Illinois men's basketball team is on the bubble of making the NCAA tournament, but their chances just took a big blow.
The Illini opened Big Ten tournament play against Michigan and a slow start proved to be the difference.
Illinois trailed by 20 in the first half and 23 points from Tracy Abrams closed the deficit for a bit.
But Michigan got the job done, handing U of I a 75-55 route to eliminate them from the conference tournament.
All Illinois can do now is wait for selection Sunday and hope they sneak in the field of 64 with an 18-14 record.
