Just one more opponent is all that stands between Effingham St. Anthony and a Class 1A State Championship
The St. Anthony boys’ basketball team faced Chicago Hope Academy in the semifinals Friday and only led by three heading into the final minute.
But a 10-4 run to end the game gives Effingham a 43-34 win, and sends them into the state championship game tomorrow afternoon.
Monticello is also searching for a berth in the Class 3A title game, facing Chicago Orr in the semifinals Friday at 7:15 p.m.
