Fish Advisory

Thursday, 9 February 2017

If you plan on fishing this spring officials say you need to be careful!

The Illinois Department of Public Health is updating the consumption advisory for sport fish caught in Illinois waters.

The recent changes are resulting from sampling by the Fish Contaminant Monitoring Program, and do not suggest fish are becoming more or less contaminated.

Officials say there's no known immediate health hazard from eating contaminated fish from any body of water in Illinois.

More information can be found on the Illinois Department of Natural Resources website.
