A Coles County man may face life in prison for preditory sexual assault to a child.
Court records show 59-year-old Kevin Deckard of rural Oakland facing charges in a case related to a 7-year-old girl.
Coles County Assistant States Attorney Tom Bucher says the victim claims the sexual acts happened seven times in at least a one year period.
In 1993 Deckard was convicted and sent to prison for a similar case in Piatt County.
Bucher says because of that previous conviction, if Deckard is found guilty on just one of the seven counts he'll automatically get life in prison.
