The Mattoon public library is finally making some crucial repairs on its roof that hasn't been remodeled in 20 years. Officials from the library said the roof was getting to the point where repairs couldn't possibly wait any longer. The president of the Library's Board of Trustees, Clay Dean, says the roof has been leaking, but once he saw how severe it was, it was time to do something about it. Clay Dean says so far the library's repairs haven't been an inconvenience to neither the staff nor the visitors. He says construction should wrap up in a few weeks and all library services will return to normal.
