The Eastern Illinois University softball team has its eyes set on September 25th for a matchup with a local rival.
The Panthers released their fall schedule earlier today, and the team will face University of Illinois in one of its two away games.
Eastern will host 10 games this fall while two of those will be against Lincoln Land College and Olney Central.
Eastern has 14 returning players including First Team All-OVC pitcher Jessica Wireman, and All-Newcomer Team selection Kayla Bear.
The Panthers open the season with the addition of six new players in a double-header against Lake Land College September 18th.
