A Decatur man who worked as an independent insurance agent is charged with fraud.
The case is related to a five year scheme in which police say James Smith (60) solicited clients to purchase insurance then used the money to pay his personal mortgage and fund his gas station business.
The FBI says Smith faces multiple charges of theft in the case which may total up to $250,000 in revenue.
