The fate of a historic Shelbyville building will have to wait a little longer.
The Shelbyville City Council met Monday night to discuss the future of the Chautauqua Auditorium.
City Clerk Carrie Jones says a structural engineer offered the city a proposal for building repairs, but the council decided to seek other bids.
Recently, the council decided to stop seeking bids to tear down the auditorium because community members are still showing interest in fixing the building.
Jones says she hopes they'll have bids by the next meeting scheduled for May 6th.
