State budget problems force the closing of a shelter for abused and homeless women.
The Stopping Woman Abuse Now organization closed their shelter in Crawford County Tuesday.
SWAN director Linda Bookwalter says the closing also forced her to lay off several employees.
Bookwalter says several other programs will continue, but with reduced staff.
Bookwalter says they have every intention of re-opening the homeless shelter if the budget is sorted out.
