Former Panther Manley joins CFL

Former Eastern Illinois quarterback Andrew Manley is joining the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.  

Manley will be a part of the team’s training camp which opens next Sunday May 31st.  

Manley was a two-year member of the Panthers football team after starting his career at New Mexico State.  

During his first season he was a back-up behind current New England Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.  

EIU has had 12 previous players play in the Canadian Football League with the most recent fullback Chris Szarka who recently retired following a long career with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders.

The season opener for the Montreal Alouettes is Saturday June 13th against Ottawa.
