Cubit Sentenced

One University of Illinois football staff member is sentenced to two years of court supervision after pleading guilty to driving under the influence.

Ryan Cubit, son of Illini offensive coordinator Bill Cubit, must wear an alcohol-monitoring device for three months and was fined $1,000 Friday, following an incident that happened last year.

Officials say Cubit, the Director of Football Student-Athlete Development, was arrested on October 12th, with no prior arrests on his record.

He was released on bond and pleaded guilty this January.

Sports Watch has not heard from the University on Cubit's employment status.
