Two local colleges are joining those increasing tuition.

Parkland College has already approved their tuition hike, while Danville Area Community College will vote next month.

Officials say Parkland students who are in-district will now pay $125 per credit hour and out-of-district students will pay $321.

The Parkland Board of Trustees approved the 7% tuition hike in a meeting on February 18th.

Officials say the increase will kick in for the upcoming summer term.

Danville doesn't have anything finalized yet, but they are proposing an increase of about $5, bringing tuition up to $115 per credit hour.

The vote is at the next board meeting on March 24th.
