Casey School District Cuts

Tuesday, 19 March 2013

A Clark County school district has agreed to cut a dozen positions because they didn't receive state funding.

The board voted Monday night to dismiss three support staff employees, eight certified employees and one administrative employee.

They also voted to set activity fees.

Students participating in one activity, club or sports will pay $50.00 and those involved in more than one will pay $100.00 dollars.

The district says the state owes them $800,000.

Earlier this year, the board voted to temporarily close the Roosevelt Junior High School in Casey for the 2013-2014 school year which officials say should save the district $250,000.
