Mattoon Police Chief Jeff Branson says it took less than an hour for his staff to calm down James Sharbinaugh and talk him into dropping the knife he was holding and coming down from a roof in Mattoon. Robin McDowell lives next door to the home and says a lot of people seem to come in and out of the building but this was something she didn't expect. McDowell says while the situation was intense she didn't feel threatened. Branson says after being talked off the roof Sharbinaugh was transported to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center and is being treated there. He says Sharbinaugh isn't being charged with anything and he's just happy everything was resolved without any injuries.
