Another central Illinois school district is slashing jobs because of decreased funding.

The Decatur Public School District Board of Education has approved cutting 77 positions, including 36 teachers and 17 teaching assistants to help cope with the 7.4 million dollars in budget cuts.

Additional jobs will be cut in adminsitrative, clerical, maintenance, and custodial positions.

Superintenent Gloria Davis says no one is happy with the cuts, and warns that the situation isn't looking better for next school year.
