A federal mediator says the University of Illinois and the union representing its striking employees will meet next week.
Service Employees International Union spokesman Adam Rosen confirms the two sides will negotiate Monday and Tuesday.
The strike by almost 800 food and building-service workers started Monday.
Employees started the strike after turning down an offer of a new contract.
Their concerns include wages and other issues.
